How we're organized

The Sex Workers Info Share network is organized using ideas of microsolidarity — a.k.a., using small blocks to build a big house.

Each regional chapter is built from three types of blocks:

  1. The "Core," who are a chapter's hosts — the funder(s), regional coordinator(s), and the Sex Worker Info Share steward. They maintain the platform that connects and supports their region.
  2. The "Crew," rotating representatives who take on the responsibility of bringing in information from their state or area, and taking out information from crew meetings to share with their local community and advocacy networks. This is a sex worker-first space.
  3. The "Collective," community members who are interested in gaining knowledge, participating in regional calls-to-action, and being in communication with their peers. This is a sex worker and allied space.

This is the structure that's working for us — for now. The goal of the Sex Worker Info Share network is to get community and legislative information to people effectively, region by region. If that means changing how we're organized in the future, we will take those steps!
